Insomniacs often flip over the hundreds of cable channels every night hoping to get tired enough to sleep. For them, no matter if they sleep on the TV show as long as they get to sleep eventually. Research shows that the continuous use of sleeping pills can reduce the activity of brain cells, affects short-term memory and cause hang-overs. After taking sedatives may seem manageable, but in the long term, these effects can be increased to more serious problems such as forgetfulness and lack of focus. You do not want to report to your workplace with confused and nervous, right? Also, it is a bad thing to forget certain work tasks just because of sleeping pills.

* Dependence

Just like how the body forms a natural defense through the production of antibodies, the body also can develop resistance to the drug. Frequent intake of certain drugs would reduce the potency of active ingredients. Finally, users must take higher doses of the drug, and being open to the risk of developing drug dependence or addiction. Sleeping pill addiction is, in fact, is fast becoming a public health concern.

* Death

People who use sleeping pills have a mortality rate that is undeniably higher than those who did not. Sleep apnea patients are encouraged to refrain from taking sleep-inducing pills. As tranquilizers, sleeping pills tend to lengthen the pause in breathing when a person sleeps. This situation can endanger the health of people with sleep apnea. Every year, many deaths are attributed to the effect of this drug.

As the saying goes, we can buy luxurious bed but we can never purchase a good night sleep. This proverbial statement just proves that many people are really struggling to board another express train to Dreamland. And the struggle continues. For some people, a good night's sleep is like a rare commodity. Artificial inducement of sleep may be necessary but caution must always be carried out to prevent an overdose of sleeping pills. Getting some "shut-eye" with the help of a pill or two need of sleep does not cause death.
